If the laptop has PCMCIA slots, you should be able to get cheap network 
cards that will work with them. Alternatively, you can get something 
like a low-cost "backpack" CD-ROM drive to connect to the PCMCIA, or an 
older model to connect to the parallel port. You might have to do some 
ebaying for this, but you can still find them on occasion fairly cheaply.

Another alternative is a Zip 100 or 250 drive (parallel port version). 
With the DOSTOOLS disk in the floppy drive to find the parallel port and 
the drive, it should be a snap to transfer everything you need and then 
some.

Another method, though slow and ugly, is to get a floppy spanning tool 
(actually, I think pkzip can do this) and span the files across a set of 
floppies.

There is always the possibility of using a terminal emulator and a null 
modem cable to do the transfer as well...
