Or if Roy chooses to go the MCU route, it could simply program the
registers from immediate values, stored in program RAM, right at powerup,
then when it's finished, it can go into the power-down state until the
next powercycle. The CoCo could change the values if it needs to, after
the MCU has "retired" for the session.
