It depends on how the group was selected and how many variables you are 
talking about.  A well selected sample of 57 could be reasonable 
representative of a population of millions.  Of course this sample has 
been poorly selected, but is a slice of a population far smaller than 
the 10,000 to 100,000 you are talking about.  It is only a sampling of 
those that still have interest in the CoCo.
