This petition is on behalf of the abandonware community on the web. So that
software companies will release their old games as public Domain.

There are a lot of people out there who remember games that they used to
play, and would like to play them again, except that many of the games are
no longer sold. There are also a lot of people on low budgets who cannot
afford new PCs or new software to run on them. Also many people have
obsolete computers that they could put to use by installing old games on
them.

Releasing games as public domain would not mean less money for the software
companies as these games are no longer sold anymore. Abandonware is only
games which are no longer sold and the copyright holders no longer make
money from them. This is very different to Warez, which is wrong and does
cause software companies to lose money. However both of them are Illegal.
And people do not want to have to break the law just to play games they
could not get anywhere else ...... (more) ......
