No. Here's my reasoning: the fact that he/she made such a mistake means
that they aren't a member of the hobbyist community. They are just
another consignment or junk seller seeking to profit from items which
they don't bother to spend the time to learn about. So I feel no special
obligation to help them make more money.

I'd rather the dedicated hobbyist community as a group get the item for
a reasonable price... the less accurate the advertisement is, the less
bidders it will see. The less bidders it sees, the lower the price. I
consider people on this list the dedicated hobbyist community so I
posted here.

For hardware, sometimes I give such sellers information that helps them
to properly test a unit, since then I know whether the unit is worth
bidding on or not. Sure it drives up the price a bit, but I reduce my
risk of purchasing an item that does not work.

Of course anyone on the list is free to notify the seller. This is just
my take.
