All the time I was a young man, I always wanted a monitor for my COCO that
did RGB and composite. I was lucky to have my CM-8 my father got for me on
my birthday one year. I used various TVs and a Commodore 1702 for composite.
I still do this today, and it takes up a lot of space.

I used ebay to bid on a Commodore 1084s. I have read people on this list
telling how good they are and Cloud-9 makes cables so you can use it on a
COCO3. Excellent. So I "won" the auction and when my 1084s showed up via
USPS priority mail, it was in 3 pieces !! Luckily I paid the $3 for
insurance. Now I have to drag the thing to the post office and fill out a
claim to get money back for it.

Sigh.... looks like my CM-8 is staying in use. I just hope it doesn't go bad
on me.

The Commodore 1702 is an outstanding composite monitor. Problem with mine,
is that it has seen so much use over the years the picture has slight
ghosting. Example being if your type CLS7 on the COCO the left side of the
"text area" has a white stripe to the right running down the length of color
7. If you play Canyon climber you can see a white strip to the right of the
game area, in the black. Basicaly if you look close enough there is a white
stripe to the right of everything on the screen. It shows up more on some
colors more tha others. Say the green text screen is fine, but if you play
any COCO2 game that uses 4 color pmode 4 (orange and blue) its horrible on
black backgrounds.

Anyone on the list have an ideas if this can be fixed with an adjustment.
Ive had the 1702 open a lot and I see tons to things to move in there :-)
Someone told me it might need to be "converged(?)" Well, im done rambling,
just looking for some ideas to adjust this thing as its still sharp and
clear.

Thanks

Charlie
