It has been previously reported in the other forum that the former list
owner is no longer associated with Princeton, and thus totally ineligable
to have any control over the listserv.

A link to this policy was posted on the old forum.

And that means that even if they have the passwords, they are not authorized
to use them, and they would not be authorized to give them to anyone other
than a member of Princeton faculty or possibly a student.

If the master listserv owner at Princeton finds out that the former owner
is gone, by policy they must shutdown any mailing list that is not sponsered
by a Princeton Faculty member or student.

And depending of the charter of the bit.listserv.coco newsgroup, if the
Princeton list server is shutdown, and another member of BITNET does not
offer to supply it, the bit.listserv.coco newsgroup may also dissapear.
