True, I'd probably read the draw with an ammeter before
choosing a pwer supply.

Yep... I hear mine spin back up fairly often because I
leave my PC running all the time, just turn off the
monitor. You can set the delay (or disable it) from 
Windows Control Panel->Power applet.
