I think I know the answer to this.  Once we get "direct" inserted - it
would set a flag, then, when it comes time to write the line(s) into the
source file, you use DP code, rather than extended.

Exactly!  "Direct" is a must.  Actually, we would need this in the RSDOS
version, too.
