You obviously never dealt with the Canadian Northeast.  Where even 
Quebec keeps threating to succeed from the rest of Canada every few 
years.  Not that everyone from Quebec isn't polite, but my exprience of 
growing up off the major route for Quebecians (?) to get to a "warm" 
beach of Portland, Maine. Polite is not the word I would use;
