I'm on enough mailing lists that I don't even try to remember which ones 
work which way.  I just hit "reply all" and edit the header no matter 
what.  It takes a bit of effort, but I've only got a handful of brain 
cells left and they suck at memory retrieval.  (You're a couple of 
years older than I am, but I've murdered a lot of neurons in my time).
