[Coco] How to solder with older eyes?

Personally I prefer option one but not those cheepo Amazon ones. With
those you can tilt your head up for normal vision. Spend a bit more and
make sure they are glass lenses. I'm 70 and still working with 100+ pin
surface mount stuff.
