[Coco] CoCo Recreation motherboards

Cool! I recall running across this project earlier, but it's nice you've
pulled 'em out into their own section. I have an idea for a future
project that I was thinking about using a CoCo 2 motherboard for; this
might be the best way to do that (instead of cannibalizing a real CoCo).

Allen mentioned the "unavailability" of the GIME - but another that is
seemingly "unavailable" (not only that, but today I was looking around
for it, and couldn't even find a datasheet) is the "SALT" chip.

It's used on the CoCo (I think all models) mainly for voltage
translation for the bit-banger port, but also for voltage regulation. A
somewhat strange "dual-purpose" chip...

I think we need something to replace those functions; the voltage
regulation would be fairly easy, I think (plenty of options for that
part); maybe the voltage levels for the bit-banger could be done via a
TTL to RS-232 converter chip?

It would be an interesting experiment to take the board and put
everything on there except for that chip, and try to hack something else
in it's place. I'm sure it can be done, it's just a question of what can
(or should) be used?
