Robert,
The question was specifically addressed to whether >>HDB-DOS<< can handle 8
logical drives (0-7). I'm curious too.

Unless you modify your disk ROM, the CoCo3 can only work with 4 single sided
drives. What normally is done is that the drive table is changed so that D0
and D2 are the front and back sides of your first drive and D1 and D3 are
front and back for the second drive.
What you should think about is to get a 5.25 and 3.5 drive. They can be set
for 4 singles with Basic and 2 double sided with NitrOS9. For more drives,
use emulated drives via Drivewire on your PC. Or use an emulated hard drive
on you CoCo3 via a CoCoSDC or similar hardware. Then you can have the
equivalent of 256 35track single sided drives plus a very large NitrOS9
drive.

If I buy 4 double sided drives instead will HDB DOS see them as DRIVE 0-7 ?
Dont want to spend the money on the drives if i can only use DRIVEs 0-3 with
them
