I don't remember at the moment which pins.  It was not the first pair, 
but often the first pair of lands on the cartridge.  The first few lands 
were often left off the cartridge to save a little money in the 
manufacturing.

Basically the upper and lower lands were shorted in the cartridge.

On my first CoCo 1 I cut the lead going into the cartridge connector and 
wired a switch in.
