I wonder, if HDBDOS is only using 256 bytes of the sector, is there some 
other bit switch that would have one of you seeing data in the first 256 
bytes of a sector, but the other is somehow seeing the 2nd 256 bytes of 
a sector and seeing nothing?  Stranger things have happened.
