Either way it's easy enough to open a rtf file on an Android phone using free apps so I doubt that there will be anyone not able to view the file whether using Windows, linux( see TED) or smartphone. Heck even my BlackBerry can open it

I would have thought with Microsoft more embracing open source etc with their current leadership that this would have been less of an issue these days. Sigh. Libre Office does work, though (I use it on OSX as well).
