I'd recommend installing Windows 10 instead of Windows 7. Windows 7 updates are huge and fractioned, so you need to install all of them separately. It will take a while.

Windows 10 updates are cumulative, so you only need to download the latest and you'll be good to go.

If the disk is crashing, but still have some times it would work, I'd suggest trying to clone it, then replace the old with the new one... It may save you some time and won't have to re-install anything.
