Whether it works for dialup or internet depends on what you connect to /t2. In the old days we used to connect a modem (dialup). Nowadays one might be inclined to connect a WiFi module (internet). T2 is just a device descriptor so it doesn’t change anything about the underlying hardware. If you could ‘peek’ an address before to make a determination then you can still peek that same address.
