My bad, got sloppy / Yes slot 4 is POKE 65407,51. I never Poke that slot since my floppy controller is always there.

Since the SDC is just a floppy emulator HDB-DOS cant tell the difference between it and the real thing. HDB_DOS will write to the SDC just the same as the physical drive.
Shouldn't slot 4 be poke 65407,51? wouldn't select slot 4 for
hardware, but 3 for ROM?
