I'm pretty sure that was D Bruce Moore ... but I don't know where the results of his findings are.

I did play w/ MLBASIC a little a couple years ago, not CBASIC. And what I found is that it is quite cumbersome, slow, and fairly buggy -- Seems I had to fight bugs almost at every turn.
