While .vhd disks are usually not so large, keep in mind that the command dmode lets you adjust:
cyl=xxxx  sid=xx sct=xxxx
Also it is possible with the right driver to use 512 byte sectors. Even with 256 byte sectors you have:

$FFFFx$FFx$FFFF x256=2.8x10^14 bytes

I don't know what a CoCoSDC will address but in general, you can read about using extra large hard
