Ed, I don't think there ever was a MIDI driver for the MIDIPak. Most software access it directly. There was however, a driver for the bitbanger MIDI.
I have an experimental driver that's not tested. It's based on the code from Ultimuse and it's Play only (for now). I could send it for you to try.
