[Coco] MC-10 Power Supply

A SNES power supply works....

needs to be AC out - 9v doesn't really matter, nor does 12v as theres an internal regulator (7805) + smoothing cap and bridge rectifier.

I just picked up a pretty rough looking MC-10 from craigslist.  It came with the RAM expansion pack, a cassette cable, and the video cable, but sadly it is missing the power supply.  I've done a little googling and found some hints that a 9V DC power supply would work even though it requires 8V AC.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
