[Coco] my x-pad writing software

The xpad (from what I understand) uses a field created by a wire grid in the pad. The pen is basically an antenna which senses the strongest signal from the x/y position in the grid. The pen tip is a switch that assumes "contact" when pressed. All this would be software timed so the double speed of the Coco would throw the timing out of whack.
BTW... you said it worked with the 6309, but was it in "native" mode? RSDOS does not use native mode so it would have to be poked in. I can't remember the address for this. This is not double speed, it just puts the CPU into 6309 native mode allowing it to use faster execution time on some instructions as well as using native 6309 instructions.

My xpad works fine with my coco3 that has the 6309 in it as long, as you pointed out, I don't use the high speed pokeI'm not sure why the xpad doesn't like the higher clock speed?Sent from my BlackBerry Passport Red Edition. This also kills NitrOS9 use unless a driver (or software) is specifically written to slow down the Coco3 (NitrOS9 is ALWAYS in double speed) while the X-Pad is accessed. This may even hamper use with a 6309 in native mode, not really sure. The Coco2 will require the multipak as well, as the Coco2 does not provide 12v.Bill Pierce"Charlie stole the handle, and the train it won't stop going, no way to slow down!" - Ian Anderson - Jethro TullMy Music from the Tandy/Radio Shack Color Computer 2 & 3https://sites.google.com/site/dabarnstudio/Co-Contributor, Co-Editor for CocoPediahttp://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index.php/Main_PageE-Mail: ooogalapasooo at aol.com-----Original Message-----From: Rietveld Rietveld <rietveldh at hotmail.com>To: Brian Goers <coco at maltedmedia.com>Sent: Sun, Sep 10, 2017 9:56 pmSubject: Re: [Coco] my x-pad writing softwareIt does work with a coco3.
