Still waiting on the pictures. There is no need for any NOR, XOR, or any other gates, unless your SCART to HDMI converter does not comply with SCART specifications. The project works as shown on the page and I demonstrated it at the 2016 CoCo Fest. When approximately 2 volts is applied to pin 16, the SCART converter is supposed to use the sync signal from pin 20 extracted from a composite video source but get all the color and luminance from the RGB pins. When 2 volts is not present on pin 16, the RGB pins should be ignored and the SCART converter should operate in full composite video mode. There should be no need for any logic gates to synthesize a composite sync signal. Please post the requested information and I will attempt to assist. If everything is wired properly and it does not work, it means your SCART to HDMI converter is not complying with the SCART standard.
