Rietveld, Not until programmers step up to work on it (VCC).
Before VCC was released as open source, the sources were in the hands of a few people, myself included (direct from the author). People were DEMANDING that VCC sources be released to open source (even going as far as to say release it without the author's consent) so it could be brought up to date and bugs fixed, enhancements made, etc.
Once the VCC sources were released, all of 2 people (who have all but disappeared) stepped up and tried to work on it, getting it to it's current release state, where it has sat for over a year now (almost 2).
Just recently, 2 more have worked on it on occassion, but yet to commit anything solid we can release (hopefully soon).
What is needed is a team of programmers collaborating on the project in an organized manner and MAYBE something could be done.
I am not a C++ programmer, nor do I work on the project other than putting together the release packages, writing the new manual (which no one reads) and maintaining the github site. I just happened to be the one that Joeseph (VCC author) was talking to when he released the sources, so he gave me admin rights to the site and now I'm stuck with it.

Does this mean that someone will be able to do the same for VCC?Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone. But I'd firstlike to thank a few people who helped:0. Nathan Woods - for his tireless work on the CoCo drivers in MAME.1. Frank Palazzolo - for dumping the ROM in the PIC-7040 (neƩ TMS-7040).2. hap - for writing the TMS-7000 microcontroller core.3. Joe Zibiciak - for all his work on the SP0256 speech chip reverseengineering and emulation.4. Couriersud, RBelmont - for the AY8910 Programable Sound Generatoremulation, a long time core in MAMEThe new ROMSET can be downloaded here:http://www.macmess.org/downloads/coco_ssc.zipIt contains the masked ROM from the microcontroller and Speech chip.To activate the slot device, put the ROMSET in your ROMs folder, and"insert" the S/SC into the expansion port like this:./mame64 coco2b -ext sscUsing it with a floppy disk controller will require a Multi-Pak (justlike real hardware):./mame64 coco2b -ext multi -ext:multi:slot3 ssc -flop1 SSC.dskThe floppy controller is automatically in slot 4 so you don't have tospecify it.Here is a link to a disk image of sample programs:http://www.macmess.org/downloads/SSC.dskHere is a list of programs that use the S/SC:http://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index.php/Speech/Sound_Cartridge_(26-3144A)And here is the link to my page about this device that includeseverything I know about it:http://tlindner.macmess.org/?page_id=96----tim lindner"Proper User Policy apparently means Simon Says."--Coco mailing listCoco at maltedmedia.comhttps://pairlist5.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/coco-- Coco mailing listCoco at maltedmedia.comhttps://pairlist5.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/coco
