[Coco] Is there a way to Run a CD-ROM drive using something other than the SCSI cartridge pak?

I remember once upon a time being able to read a cd from a coco using the superide. Was only able to get it to work in nitros9 and burning the disks in a format it could read made it more trouble than it was worth and I stuck with drivewire.
