To Frank and Rick: Welcome!!
Make sure to ctach the CoCoCrew Podcasts and the CoCoTalk!.
The podcasts can be found here:
http://www.cococrew.org/
The CoCOTalk happens typically every Saturday at 2 PM Eastern and is hosted by Steve Strowbridge. His YouTube channel for the CoCOTalk is here:

Log in into YouTube just before the show, he streams it live. This is an informal talk about all things CoCo. It is not scripted.

Greetings from member #550!
Hello all! My name is Frank Thompson and I'm from Southeastern Michigan.
I was a Coco user a long time ago. I got my Coco2 as a Christmas present
as a kid (still have the picture from Christmas day with the Coco box,
joysticks, cassette recorder, and a huge cheesy grin on my face). I spent
hours going through the book and learning to program, playing games, and
generally learning how to use it.
Sometime in my adult life, the computer and all my gear (disks, the FD-501
drive, modem, cassettes, games, etc) was "purged" from my parents
basement... sigh.
I've been in re-acquisition mode for about a year or so now. I have lots
of hobbies and do jump back and forth between them quite a bit, but for
now, I'm in Coco mode. I've reacquired the exact model of Coco I had as a
kid: a 64k Coco 2 (the 26-3127)... well actually I have 3. Yes, I have a
problem! The latest has yet to arrive, but was won on e-bay a few days ago
and is supposed to be NIB. We'll see when it shows up how New-In-Box it
really is. Regardless, it should be nice and clean.
I've modified machine #1 with Zipster's composite output mod, and have the
CoCo SDC and case on the way. I'm very anxious to get the CoCo SDC
working. Even though I have the disk drive, I love the modern updates and
am eager to try them out.
So, I'll wrap this up. I signed up for the mailing list in order to learn
all the latest goings-on with the Coco and to learn how people are using
their machines today. I'm excited to be reliving a piece of my childhood.
Thanks all for listening!
