[Coco] If, then...else?

Hi. Just my two cents. (actually a nickel because we don't have pennies anymore up here)

I pretty much have the same setup on one of my systems. I would use ADOS3 flashed to a spare bank in the SDC to access the drives (why bother with an eprom).Heck if u want to just flash YADOS, HDB-DOS,and ADOS3 all into the spare banks of the flash and use whatever works best that day., go ahead but SDC dos obviously handles the virtual disk images perfectly fine. As a note on that if you want to use all of the SDCX GUI features to the fullest you will need to use SdC DOS anyway

As for dual 3 1/2 drives? You can use both. The system could care less what drives u have attached as long as the DOS can recognize and use them fully, otherwise they will be treated the same as a 35 track 5 1/4

Ados is great on a bare system without an sdc or drivewire. However if you
are planning on getting an sdc you will need to use either HDB DOS or YA
dos these dos's have the commands to to mount and unmount virtual floppy
disk images on the SDC.
Another fly in the ointment is that i don't think you can use more then one
of the 3.5 disk drives, I could be wrong on this point other wiser smarter
people will hopefully comment on this issue.
I think your best bet would be to get your hands on a eeprom programmer and
replace the rom on your FD 501 controller with Ados, then using the switch
on your multipack you can switch between Ados and SDC dos Whenever you want.
all the best
Steve.
