Amen, and I will make a point of doing so henceforth. As they say in the
computational complexity biz, leaving the quoted material in is O(n**2)
space complexity where n is the length of the thread.

Best suggestion I could find for those who, like me, use Gmail, is to click
reply, then type ^A (select all) before you start typing your reply, so
that what you type replaces all that quoted text. Explicitly copy and paste
what needs quoting.
