Steve, you hit the nail right on the head. The whole idea is to get rid of Microsoft dependencies. In doing so, I think we'll end up with an even better graphics display.
The "VCCE Development Team" thanks you for the support. I personally don't do any of the programming (maybe in the future), just distribution and documentation, but I'm sure those who do the programming appreciate the support.
If we ever get past this one hurdle, I think the project will start moving forwards rather quickly :-)
I am an avid VCC power user and do all my own Nitros9 software development in VCC as I like working "in" NitrOS9 and not "for" NitrOS9 (using cross-compilers). I am looking forward to some of the changes/enhancements that have been discussed while working on the project.

Other than a little bit of drama, it looks like progress is being made onthe VCC front which is exciting, I somewhat understand what is beingdiscussed here, I know what active-X, which is basically Microsoft's APIfor pushing graphics in the Windows OS, and I understand that would notwork on any other OS, and should be changed to a more neutral technology. To over simplify my digestion of this thread, once changes in the code arecommitted, and you get rid of the dependencies on a Microsoft specificgraphics engine, using an OS neutral graphics render engine and using acommon language like "C" this code should be able to more easily be portedto Mac and Linux, and that sounds exciting.VCC has been my primary emulator due to the fact I run Windows and it'seasy to use, but I also appreciate the fact that Xroar and MAME accomplishthe similar goal for many different OS and that's a great thing.I look forward to seeing future releases of this, and I'm happy to knowthere is a lot of interest in moving it forward.I would like to extend my gratitude to those who picked up this torch andcontinue to carry it, as a guy who mostly "just plays games" I appreciatethe work "real" computer users put in to making the technologies thatenthusiasts like me can benefit from.Steve Strowbridge, akaThe Original Gamer Stevie Strowhttp://ogsteviestrow.comogsteviestrow@gmail.comOn Tue, Jun 14, 2016 at 5:38 PM, Stephen H.
