I never used an active editor, I used a word processor. Type in the code and save it as an ASCII file. The CoCo can read it as a program. I don't remember anything special to load it, just name it "xxx.BAS". I'm real rusty on my DECB, but you can save a BASIC program as an ASCII file. You'll have to look up the info on the save command. I think it was  "SAVE FILENAME.BAS, A" for DECB....
