Sorry, but I don't understand what your describing.
The new version of SDC-DOS does not overwrite or otherwise change which
image(s) are mounted at startup. Having an image named "SDCX.DSK" in your
root directory is of no relevance.
The EXP command will issue a ?NE ERROR if it can't find a disk image named
"SDCEXP.DSK" in the root directory.
