Windows is designed by one company
Runs on dozens of manufacturers computers
Using dozens of WiFi chip sets
Using dozens of video controllers
Using dozens of different chips
Using dozens of peripherals
Using dozens of printers
Etc etc etc....

You should be amazed it even boots up. 😎

let's say for the sake of argument that Win10 is 100 lines.
Ever estimated how long it would take to test all the code, knowing that even users never touch some code in the lifespan of there OS.

Windows is a "company", and they do what companies do, making money. The more the merrier...lol

Letting the public do their testing is right out in the open:

Home page - Windows Insider Program
https://insider.windows.com/

1,000,000++ members

One advantage for developers is that you can run the Insider Version of W 10 dual booting with W 7, something you cannot do if you take the "FREE" upgrade route.

The requirements are stiff, you must be capable of zeroing your hard disk and starting with a clean install if something goes really bad, willing and able to recover from serious problems and workaround things that do not work.

Another person and I are attempting to run a Win XP program without success so far.
