It appears to have been converted to HTML, then back to text.
And since HTML has no punctuation except for its markup, all the text
formatting from the use of normal punctuation has been thrown away.
According to my kmail configuration, it is sending pure 7 bit ascii text.
So, how the echo got mutilated, I haven't a clue.

Salvador, since you are posting thru netscape, which is apparently an
alias for AOL.com these days, that is where I'd be inspecting the
configuration.
Something seems to be all aglay.
