[Coco] UPD4723GS - RS-232 LINE DRIVER_RECEIVER AT 3.3V & 5V

Had anyone here used a UPD4723GS - RS-232 LINE DRIVER/RECEIVER AT 3.3V & 5V ?
Looking for a <$3 source and a pc board for it.

Need it for a gadget to connect to the Coco's serial port.
Tried some cheap converters from eBay, but those did not provide true RS-232 +/- voltages.
