Okay, it IS done. I fiddled with it to make it smaller and ended up making
it slightly faster and 1 byte larger.
It works reliably and it's fast.
My wife's review was "Is that you making the lights blink?" So I am going
to interpret that as a 5-star rating on the blink-ability scale.
It's available at the links above and I will pass it along to Gene who is
generously hosting it on his site.
While it is really intended to be used as a command-line utility with an eye
toward using it with Cron, I was thinking of writing
an interface for it that would keep track of the status of the various
units. If there is any interest in this let me know and let me know what
you think it should include.
