I think the Amazon purchase was when UPS left packages at my door and did not even ring the doorbell. I live on a busy street so packages I worry about as they are visible to anyone walking by. Until they are in my hands I do checking each hour or half hour sometimes on the delivery date.
I tried very hard to get Amazon to even tell me where the package was coming from, they said perhaps Phoenix. No idea when it might arrive. If the GPS had batteries in it could have told me after it had arrived.
Now the 7-11 has boxes that you can get packages sent to, Fedx will hold packages at their local store, Wal-Mart offers store pickup and so many better options. When I was working I had UPS hold packages at their warehouse. Then they stopped that and I had to sign and pray.
Tracking perhaps not a big deal for some, it is for me.
And now Amazon wants to deliver packages with drones.
