To all it may concern,
Maybe I did overreact, and I apologize for using "inappropriate" words. I'm just so PO, to see that so many people are being ripped.
I do not however take back that the price war is insane and will eventually end in the fact that many "coco lovers" will have to cease there hobby.
Imagine when the "superIDE" controller will eventually be there, which I expect that will be soon, and I guess that it would be not cheaper then $200, and add there the nice SDC floppy emulator $25, and the new static 512 memory expansion card for $50 I think it was. This would add up to $275 and then a coco 3 for $300 gives a total of $575.
And for the ones that like to have LCD monitor they have to add the rgb2vga adaptors of which I lost track of the prices, but say avg. $100 then the bill goes to $675.
And you do need an MPI for the two cards I mentioned before, another $80 to $100 would be my guess??
Will eventually be close to $1000 when a complete set is set on the table with all the odds and ends. Not bad for a "vintage computer of 35 years old". Wonder how much that would eventually end up on eBay, newnormal thinking maybe $3000 ?
Sorry but I refuse to call this "NEW NORMAL" and out-loud insane and I regret that if my coco3 breaks down,
it will be the last one that I ever owned.
Maybe I should put it on eBay now, then I can buy me some commodore 64, also a vintage computer and close as old as the coco, but still around for less then $50, or maybe the new FPGA board with LINUX is only $500 and then I can emulate as many old vintage computers for which there are cores.
Again my apology for using degrading words...
