[Coco] NitrOS-9 beginner

Robert, that's exactly right. Just use the disk from the download site that has the _dw on it... nitros9l26x09coco3_dw.dsk (x being 8 or 3 based on your cpu)
If your HDBDOS has no "offset", it will boot straight from slot 0 of HDBDOS.
Once in nitros9, that dsk has to remain in slot 0 as it contans all needed system files abd commands. At least until you learn a little and get to know how to use a VHD, then you'll want to move on to bigger and better things. OS9 is MUCH better on a hard drive (real or emulated). Once you're running from an HD, you'll only need floppy access to copy files to thge HD.

Um, trying to figure this out now... I *do* have HDB-DOS on an eprom, so
I boot
straight into that currently.

You're saying the DOS command has been updated in
HDB-DOS to attempt to
boot OS-9 via the drivewire connection, on the assumption
that an os-9
disk image is mounted in the first logical disk position? (What I
think
of in HDB-DOS terms as Drive #0 Drive 0) ... ?

Or you can replace the

Especially for those without floppies or an

it loads from tape in a few seconds.
