Best of all, remove the line editor altogether and implement a screen
editor of some sort.

Can someone point me to an ADOS3 manual. I use to use ADOS3 back "in the
day" and I seem to recall it had a few great features. I loved that DOS,
I had it set to boot into an 80 column mode with the colors of my
choice. It's amazing how many people saw it and thought I had a new
powerful system, until I explained to them it was still a CoCo...
switched back to 32 column green screen and they realized I was still
using the same "toy computer".

Damn those C64 users!   :)
