Thanks!
I've just had the drive apart for a quick cleaning/lubrication, followed
by a test. Everything appears to be in working order, except the disks
he gave me. No luck reading those at all (and I'm talking about the one
CoCo program, Personalfile). It's doing alright with one of my own
floppies, though.
Oh, and I noticed this is also a one-sided drive. I guess I figured
they would have moved to two-sided drives by the FD-500, but it would
appear I was wrong, haha. I guess it makes sense though, since Disk
Basic only addresses one side of a drive at a time. It is the case that
takes two normal half-height drives, so I could put a double-sided drive
in, if I wanted. I was thinking about putting one of those 3.5" adapter
brackets in the (unoccupied) upper slot. I guess it doesn't make much of
a difference to me whether the 5.25" drive is 180k or 360k, but I had
been using a 720k drive for OS-9 stuff on my hacked-together setup.

As I look at my resurrected drive case with mismatched drives (same model different color ;-), hacked up cable with extra connectors, and power plugs hanging out the back for when I plug up a bare 3.5”, I kinda want to look for one myself :)
