[Coco] 'arc' copy command and Stack Overflow (ERROR #207)

Willard, this makes me wonder why the NitrOS9 repo disks have a directory tree with:
NITROS9 / 6309L2 / MODULES /etc
I can access it OK and I can even create such a DIR, but the 'arc' utility will not copy it. I've renamed mine to CC36309L2 so I never have problems.
Maybe this is something we need to address in the repo builds?

Yeah, under stock os9 files can't have names that start with a number.
Seems like a silly restriction but I'm sure there was a good reason...

Allen, I use 'arc' every day. I copy full 120mg vhds back and forth with no
problems.
My crc is definately different, it's $B12074
I don't know if it's later, but it's not the same. The only problem I've run
into is if it hits a file with the 'share' bit set. It will come to a halt if it
does. Also, it dilikes directories starting with numbers. Doesn't os9 advise
against this? Example 'NITROS9/6309L2/MODULES'. It doesn't stop, but copies no
further than the 6309L2, and moves to the next tree.
I pulled this file from my old floppies as I couldn't find it anywhere in any of
the archives when I started pulling out my old Coco stuff a few years ago. Fom
trying to disassemble it to fix the above problems, I found it was written in C.
I have also found (since then), what I beleive is the source in the OS9UG disks.
If it is the same, it's a Carl Kreider program.
It's on my "Favorite OS9 Utilities" disk here (along with a few other gems you
may like):

I seem to have more files than the excellent 'arc' copy utility can handle. My
arc is Edition #2 (CRC $CFA2A1). Is there a later version or did I just hit a
wall?
Strange, since I would have used ARC to copy all of this to the old Compact
Flash card. Maybe I ran in to this and had to do it in sections.
