Wouldn't that be awesome? I suspected that when I was reading the data sheet on how there are no separate WRITE/ERASE modes. It does the ERASE transparently to the user during the WRITE operation. Not how I would go into WRITE mode via software though.. Might have to look at the jumper stuff more on that.

These EEPROMs should also be writable in place in the CoCo, without needing any external programmer at all, if I'm not mistaken! I'd include a jumper and pull-up resistor on the write enable line in order to write-protect the memory.
