Reading the old _Micro_ magazine at micro.applearchives.com will give you a pretty good picture of several of the 8-bit wars, including CoCo v. AppleII. I've found it to be fascinating reading.

Yeah, that had to be it. I knew a bunch of kids with computers, but I don't think I knew any that had an Apple 2 since they were $$$$.
In the CoCo book, which I started reading on my iPad recently, it says something about Radio Shack selling more computers than Apple when they started. Almost.
