In DECB all 4 drives were formatted as SSDD, under OS-9 they were formatted
as DSDD I still had new SSDD floppys at that time, and used them only for
DECB, I was booting OS-9 from 3.5" 80 track disks, I also had two 40MB hard
drives on the CoCo at that time on an OwlWare system, a friend of mine had
a Burke & Burke Hard drive system for his CoCo3, on several occasions I had
my computer with both the Burke & Burke and OwlWare hard drive systems
running with a total of 4 40 MB hard drives and Dsaved my Owlware drives to
his, because we owned the same software and he had a hard drive crash. I
also proved a college professor wrong in front of a class with the CoCo, by
attaching a 286 wintel machine to it and running CoCo software on the IBM
clone, while formatting 4 floppy disks at the same time with the CoCo. I
miss those days! (I was a computer programmer from 1985 to 1998), Mike you
are doing good getting OS-9 booting from 3.5 inch drives. Are you using the
DSDD80.DD descriptor from OS-9 level1 like I did? I got a hold of an
unreleased copy of OS-9 level1 that had DSDD drivers for the old 10 inch
floppy drives and used the descriptors for those to run the 3.5" drives,
because they are electronically the same, though the Nitros9 format for 3.5
inch drives is different. I just realized I may still have that 4 drive
floppy cable laying around somewhere I'll have to try and find it so I can
hook that up again.
