Make them 50 pin wide, then it could be used for extending SCSI cables.
Cutting it down to 40 pins, would be good for a Coco cartridge Y-cable,
or a 34 pin wide piece could extend floppy cables.
The female crimp on connectors are no problem, 
those are cheap and and easy to get.
