Ed, If I remember correctly, my nephew said he could get a "powder coat" black as an option. I'm pretty sure he said he would prefer to use a light guage steel rather than alluminum and that it would be cheaper to do so. I don't think the powder coat adds any expense as the steel sheets come that way.
I would upload some pics of the J&M controller case but I can't find the sub-mini usb cable that goes with my camera

Bill,
That’s certainly understandable.
Would they have a finish applied, or be bare metal? Obviously this would cost
more.
I’m curious as to what the design would be like, and what they might cost.

referring to holes for spacers, mounting screws etc... I would have to order
these cases at 25-50 at a time. I would not do a finished product made for a
specific board, sell 5, then the board be redesigned next week for an "add on"
and the mounting scheme changed. I'd be stuck with 20-45 unusable, and unpaid
for cases.

in which they can select and install their own mounting scheme. In that way,
they can offer a finished product complete and in a case.

as I would (most likely) have to pay for the design to be processed. This is not
some home shop, but a very unique custom shop dealing with unique clientel.
