Hi guys,
I will be pausing my Coco software projects for a while as I've got a few recording sessions to work on here in my studio, and the acoustic duo I'm recording wants me to join up and make a trio. We then plan to eventually add a drummer and bass player for a full band. These guys are already an established act, so the shows (for the most part) are already booked.
Between the recording, learning the new material for the acoustic trio, and preparing for the full band, my time will be limited. I have about 35 songs to learn (or in some cases, re-learn) before the first gig. We will be performing 2-4 nights a week, rehearsing 2-3 nights a week and I'll be spending the rest of the time learning songs, and programming MIDI light show sequences. We'll be using a MIDI "click" track to play to so that a light sequence can be programmed in time with the music for each song. The click track will include shakers, bongos, congas etc, to give something to keep time to so we don't lose the song.
If I had a RasPI, I would set up a Coco with NOS9 and Ultimuse3 to do the MIDI stuff for me. If it gets rolling (and it will), I'll probably do just that. Controlling the lights from Ultimuse3 is easy stuff, the click track sequencing even easier.
If I do end up using the Coco for this, I'll make a video of it and post it on youtube.
Now to see if my little Apple green screen monitor made it through the floods... I used this when I used the Coco before (90s) in my acoustic shows. Small and compact. And with a raspi, I wouldn't need a drive or PC server. I could stick it in the Coco and have dw4 on the raspi.
I will still be checking in on the list to see what's going on, and if I get free time, work on my projects. But I won't miss a chance to do one of the few things I love to do more than tinker with the Coco, and that's play music :-)
It's what I do best.
So I'll be in and out of the Coco scene for a while, but still available on the list.
